stitch fix's times square takeover

In 2017, Stitch Fix made a bold statement with its initial public offering (IPO) by literally lighting up New York City. To mark this milestone, I led a talented team of brand and motion designers in creating an ambitious out-of-home (OOH) campaign that took over Times Square—one of the most visually saturated environments in the world. Our mission? To "paint the town Mint" using Stitch Fix's signature mint color, transforming more than 20 digital billboards into a dynamic display that embodied the personalized magic of a Stitch Fix box.of a personalized "Fix" box.

The challenge was clear: make Stitch Fix impossible to ignore amidst the neon chaos of Times Square. Our solution? Craft visuals that seamlessly integrated into the towering vertical landscape while ensuring our message stood out. We captured the essence of the Stitch Fix experience—personalized, stylish, and just a little bit unexpected—through animated content that turned heads and stopped passersby in their tracks.

But the magic didn’t stop there. To bring the wider Stitch Fix team along for the ride, we produced a "making of" documentary that offered a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process. This film wasn’t just about documenting our work; it was about sharing the energy, innovation, and sheer excitement that went into making our Times Square debut a resounding success. It was a way to connect every employee to this iconic moment, even if they couldn’t be there in person.

In the end, the campaign did more than just celebrate our IPO—it cemented Stitch Fix’s place in the public eye, showcasing our brand on one of the biggest stages in the world. It was a true testament to the power of creative vision, teamwork, and a little bit of mint-colored magic.
